A Chapter from Guts, Feathers, and All
by Meghan Vigeant
Guts, Feathers, and All was written for the Swan's Island History Society. After a fire destroyed the library and historical archive in 2008, the island community sought to rebuild a record of their history. With the help of Island Institute and lots of volunteers, Meghan Vigeant documented the island's history through oral history interviews. This book is a result of those interviews. There are ten profiles of Swan's Islanders and their unique island stories. Here is sample chapter:
Johnnie lists the ingredients in his recipe for a good life: "a good wife, good kids, good friends, good family and the good Lord."
